Well.ca Green Store Launch - Earth Week Giveaway #3!

Whee, the lucky recipient of the Well.ca gift basket is susantroy who said...

The baby cubes are the greatest purchase ever for new moms (hint, hint). I didn't have those, but they would be so much better than ice cube trays for freezing baby food! You need to buy them! :)

Happy Earth Day!

Susan, email me at talk at ecochick dot ca ASAP and everyone else - good luck next time!

Have you checked out Well.ca, the online drugstore? It's a great resource for purchasing anything you can find at a regular drugstore - with the added bonus, of course, of doing it from your lap, and with free shipping anywhere in Canada on all orders, it's a no brainer for when you need to stock up on essentials.

The great eco-news is that today they've launched their new Green and Natural store stocked with over 3,000 products from great lines such as Burt’s Bees, Kiss My Face, Derma E, Weleda, Giovanni's, Green Works, Green Beaver and many more.

And the *awesome* news is that the gang at Well.ca love ecochick readers, and want to give you some great products to try out in honour of their launch and Earth Day.

First in the gift pack is an Urban Spa Full Body Sea Sponge - Soft, absorbent and durable, sea sponges turn soap and body wash into a foamy, luxurious lather that's perfect for the bath and shower. These sponges are sustainably harvested too!

Next up is a delicious jar of Giovanni Cool Mint Lemonade Salt Scrub - this delicious lemony scrub tingles with fragrance and is an invigorating body exfoliator that polishes skin's surface, removing cellular debris. The richly scented formula contains the exclusive Giovanni PureOrganic Technology blend.

And finally - as if you needed more - there's a Burt's Bees Nourishing Gift Set containing *amazing* Burt's Bees products including Naturally Nourishing Body Wash, Naturally Nourishing Lotion, Naturally Nourishing Body Bar, Herbal Milk Bath, Honey Lip Balm, Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme and a gorgeous Bee-uty Bag. Can you believe it?

All this can be yours, ecochick - you just need to head on over to the Well.ca Green Store and spend a little time exploring. Then come back here and tell me in the comments about a new eco-product you've discovered there that you'd love to try. Leave your comment by Wednesday, April 29, 2009 (sorry folks, Canucks only!) and make sure you leave me a way to contact you. Good luck and Happy Earth Day!

Would love to try the Organimals Organic Pet Shampoo by Aubrey Organics. I don't believe that I need to wash my dog and cats with chemicals and this looks like a great product.

I've discovered Well.ca several months ago and I love it! They have many natural products available and the new green store is a very good idea. They have also added indicators for every product telling you if it's Canadian, natural, organic or vegan. Very good idea!
As for new natural products, I am very curious about the Cream Perfume Company perfumes.

Those perfumes intrigue me, too. Great site!

Funny you should mention those Cream Perfume Company perfumes. You'd best make sure you subscribe to ecochick if you don't already.... just sayin ;)

Why didn't I hear about this site until now? And free shipping?! SOLD!

I've been looking for some new handsoap options as we seem to go through a lot of it in our house and I'm also pretty picky (it's all about the smell!)

The Well.ca store has a ridiculously large selection of hand soap and I'm really keen to try a few of them - most notably the Kiss Me Foaming Liquid Soap in Lemon/Ginger and the Nature's Gate Lemongrass/Sage. Even better - they have refills - what more can you ask for!

Thanks for the head's up, S!

I am totally going to give those environmentally-friendly insect repellants a try! I'm particularly interested in the Cadcor buzz patches - not rubbing deet on our skin appeals to me!

The insect repellents as well as the sunblocks are interesting items to look into further. :)

I'd like to try the Tom's of Maine Natural Deodorant in Lavender. I knew Tom's made toothpaste, but I didn't know they make deodorant, too!

The Propylene Glycol Free Deodorant looks like a great product. Didn't know they made such a thing. Great way to "think green" each day as you get ready.

There are so many products to try. The insect patches could be a real saviour, as bugs LOVE me and I don't like the traditional repellent. I would also like to try the Avalon peppermint bath and shower gel. A peppermint bath and shower gel is hard to find.

BTW Ecochick - it's me, bubbaf. :)

I'm completely raving on the idea of Suncoat Soy-Corn Based Natural Nail Polish Remover.

I didn't even think it was possible to have an eco-friendly nailpolish remover. I thought the healthiest option I could find was Acetone-Free with Vitamin E... which, strangely enough still stripped the fuck out of my nails! And while the promise of getting high off of the residual fumes resulted in little more than a migraine and some hot flashes, I'm more than happy to toss it all aside for Suncoat's life changing and environmentally responsible product.

I'm loving that well.ca is making going green easy. It makes me wonder why we haven't done this sooner!

I am already a huge fan of the Tom's of Maine and Burt's Bees products, but I am really interested in trying the Atmosphere tea tree stuff. The facial wash and scrub look fantastic...and the prices are awesome.

It's great to see more Canadian sites popping up!

I haven't seen an organic, plant-based alternative to hand sanitizers before. Giving EO Lemon Hand Sanitizing Wipes is high on my list.

We are planning a trip to Greece this summer. Looking into sunscreen for children that is chemical-free and eco-friendly. The Heiko SPF 40 Kids looks like it fits the bill!

What a cool site! I would love to try the Buzz Away bug wipes, to see if they work!

I'm intrigued by the EO Organic Unscented Hand Sanitize. Currently I use Hands2Go Unscented Alcohol-Free sanitizer but I can only buy it in the US so it's a pain. Having an organic unscented option available in Canada is fantastic and I can't wait to order it!

Are you kidding me? What wouldn't I want to try??? Their site is amazing. I thought I owned every Burt's Bees product in existence until I saw the Poison Ivy and Bite kit... that is my number one summer pick!

I love the handwoven totes, especially the African Grass Basket- round. Also, the face products they have. And of course, Burt's Bees. Who isn't a fan of Burt's.

It would be Kiss My Face Foot Scrub that exfoliates and polishes dry, rough feet with natural pumice and walnut shells in this luxurious organic peppermint foot scrub.
