Awesome Otterbottle: Earth Week Giveaway #1!
**********************************************
You're thirsty. You don't want to use a plastic water bottle, because plastic sucks. But you're still thirsty. And frankly, you're also kind of girly, and you don't want to drag around one of those hideous water bottles that looks like a leftover WWII torpedo or something.
This is why you need an Otterbottle. Not only are these 100% recyclable stainless steel water bottles uber-lightweight and easy to carry... not only are they aluminum-free... not only do they come with two tops - a sport top and twist top with lid, to suit your needs... not only do they come with a clip to easily hook the bottle onto your bag or knapsack.. not only are they a Canadian company... but girl, they are hot. Really, really hot. In 950 ml, 700 ml and 500 ml sizes and a series of gorgeous designs, this water bottle will be the envy of your yoga class. I've been getting compliment after compliment on mine, which of course I smugly bask in.
So... you want one? You could buy one from their website. You could buy one from one of their in-store carriers. (And if you buy one, know that a portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold go to the David Suzuki Foundation.) Or, you could just comment on this post by Monday, April 27 telling me which one of their fancy styles makes the best eco-statement, in your opinion. Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you such as an email address (sorry, this giveaway is Canada only). And if you do that, I might just send you one. Good luck!

I think that they all make a very good eco statement, but if I had to choose one it would be the blue one with the tree. A portion of the proceeds of that bottle go to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. It's a double win!

I'm smitten with the 750ml "Earth Tree" design as well because I have a fondness for anything with a tree motif. As already mentioned a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this design go to the Kids Cancer Care Foundation which is fantastic. Helping the environment and helping kids in need...now that's a great bottle!

I like the one with the green flowers on it - the last one in the page. The design is very clean and sharp and not super flashy. I also find it very cheerful.

Hi:
I like the very last one too, (the Yellow and Green Flower Power) because the flower colours are the same colours of the emerging leaves of trees in the springtime. - April 20, 2009 at 12:35 PM

Wow. Those are some nice bottles! Any word on the sports caps (leaks, chirping noises)? I like my other SS bottle, but it's just not pretty. Earth Tree and Pink Flower Power stand out for me.

I absolutely love the blue tree design as the best earth friendly message. It depicts water, a tree and the sky, all of which are representative of our precious natural ressources that we need to cherish! I adore that they offer 3 different sizes, I could use the big 900 ml one while my 15 month-old can hold the 500 ml one, even when it's full.

I like the daisy design, the one that is show on your website Eco Chik. I think it can be further improved on with some messaging to describe why using these bottles are better using something else. I also would like to see the opening wider so it is easer to clean inside.
I have a question though, there is so much focus on how unsafe (health wise) the plastic bottle is. But what about the cover? The bottle is stainless steel but the bottle cover is still plastic. What type of plastic are they using? - April 20, 2009 at 4:57 PM

My favourite bottle is the Blue Brown Flower Power.
Just want to say, this is the first time I have heard of resuablebags.com, if that bag counter is 100% accurate, it's insane the amount of plastic bags that are used. I haven't used one in years. - April 21, 2009 at 10:50 PM

The blue tree is a pretty one that donates to cancer and represents both the earth/sea and green land....but it's not my choice. The green flowers are also pretty, and represent the beauty of nature, but it's not my choice either. My choice is for the alien, because we're all going to be living on Mars if we don't start taking care of the earth, and that would suck donkey balls.

This is a no brainer...the one that benefits the Children's cancer foundation is the one with the best eco-statement.
We are all interconnected...rates of cancer have definately gone up and I know that it is because of the way we have been living and abusing our earth and ourselves over the last decades...

How can you choose a favourite one, they are all so cute and very practical. If I had to chose which one makes the best eco-statement I would say the green flower pattern Otterbottle. Green meaning you are being eco-friendly using an Otterbottle and not a plastic bottle. The flowers representing what life gives us because of water.

Love them. Ours had a faulty lid and they sent us a new bottle and lid with no questions asked. Great customer service. So we were able to use the other lid with our orignial bottle and use the second lid with the new bottle.
