gKissr Lip Balms: Hempseed oil heaven

A few weeks ago, I had the huge pleasure of meeting with Mimi, creator of g Kissr lip balms. I had stumbled across these little tubs of awesomeness at Viva Loca in Ottawa, and quickly realized that these were local products - how awesome! Mimi and I then sat down for a chat and she told me all about g Kissr.

Mimi introduced natural, organic foods into her family's life two years ago for several reasons, not the least of which was realizing she had very sensitive skin and lips. She needed to find products that worked for her but that were also organic - and over the shelf stuff wasn't cutting it. She explored the use of hempseed oil, knowing that hemp uses very little water to grow and is an extremely versatile plant. Extract the oils, combine with natural scents and voila - an excellent little lip balm is created.

She wanted to show the world that hemp and eco-friendliness can also be fashionable. To that end, she created the product packaging with a vintage retro design to appeal to the fashionista, in unique and fun scents to appeal to a wide range of users - such as Canadian Maple Syrup and Java Mocha Ice. Yum!

The lip balms sell for $9 each - a little more than off the shelf stuff, yes, but you get a larger quantity of a fashionable, unique, fun product for the price - and it's ecofriendly.

Mimi was kind enough to share a sample of all four flavours of lip balm with me - and I'm giving three of them away! Simply head on over to her website and tell me which lip balm flavour you would like to try most - winner takes all. Good luck!

These look great. Wish I was in Ottawa so I could go out and try them right away. Being from Canada I would like to try the Canadian Maple the most - but it isn't an easy choice, they all look so good.

Bali Lemongrass Blast! Thanks for the heads up about Viva Loca. I'm planning a trip to Westboro on Friday, and I'll definitely stop by.

I don't know i can effectively convey my joy at finding out Ottawa has a local-products-only shop. Possibly with a small dance.

Also, Truffle Kissr just sounds too good to be true.
